World Missions Offers LMR Seminars

At the request of Pennsylvania Administrative Bishop Rodney Jeffords, the World Missions leadership team will be conducting a local missions representative (LMR) seminar in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Prayer Conference convening on March 6-7, 2008. Bishop Jeffords has chosen “Reaching Our World for Christ” as the theme of this meeting which will take place at the Spring Valley Church of God in Reading, PA.

Dr. Roland Vaughan, general director of Church of God World Missions, will be the guest speaker for the opening service on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. Dr. Douglas LeRoy, Assistant Director of World Missions, will minister in the closing service of the Prayer Conference on Friday evening at 7 p.m.

The LMR seminar will begin at 9:30 on Friday morning and continue until 12:30 p.m. During this three-hour conference, the following subjects will be presented by the missions leadership team:

The Work of World Missions

The Work of the LMR

Leadership Training

Donor Services

Communications

Unreached People Groups

Missions Begins in the Local Church

How to Have an Effective Local Church Missions Conference

This meeting is designed to educate LMRs on the role they play in providing their local church with updated missions information. It is also an opportunity to encourage all pastors to appoint a missions-minded individual from their congregation who has a heart and burden for reaching the harvest to serve as the LMR. We are excited for this opportunity to meet one on one with the Pennsylvania LMRs, as well as all pastors throughout the state and to share our vision for reaching the lost. Following the Pennsylvania LMR seminar, World Missions leadership will conduct another seminar for the state of Kentucky in Louisville at the East Side Praise Church of God on March 29, 2008. This conference will be on Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m. and continue until 2:00 p.m.

The World Missions department is holding LMR seminars throughout the U.S. If you are interested in learning about the many ministries of World Missions and the various needs and projects around the world, please make a special effort to attend a seminar near you. As plans are made for upcoming meetings, we will keep you updated.
