Ishmael Charles to Speak During GA2012
Rev. Ishmael Charles will be delivering the Thursday evening message at the 74th Church of God International General Assembly, which will be conducted at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando July 24-27, 2012.
Charles, overseer for the Church of God of the island nations of Tortola (British Virgin Islands), St. Kitts, Nevis and Guadaloupe, will deliver the keynote address during the missions night service on July 26. Along with serving as overseer, Charles has been senior pastor of the New Testament Church of God on Tortola since 1989. The church has undertaken several building projects and today is one of the most influential congregations across all denominations on the island. A graduate of Lee University and the Pentecostal Theological Seminary, Charles is a current member of the Church of God International Executive Council.

“My objective in ministry is to see the Church of God in the Leeward and Virgin Islands reach to its maximum capacity with the mandate of Christ in the last day, and to work with Church of God World Missions to achieve this task,” Charles stated.
The missions service is a highlight of the biennial Church of God Assembly and includes a program of worship, music, choirs, special introductions and testimonies, and the Parade of Nations where missionaries and native citizens march in bearing their countries’ flag.
Missions night follows the opening Wednesday service with special guest Ravi Zacharias. The Friday evening concluding service will feature a commissioning of the newly-elected general overseer, followed by his inaugural address. Activities throughout the four-day event include ministry gatherings, reunions, conducting of business of the church, and the nomination and election of church leaders.
