Saddletree Church of God Closes Out Four Week Revival
What was thought to be a regular annual church revival planned for January 15 – 20, 2012 with Evangelist Ron Barnes of Stafford, Virginia, exploded into a countywide crusade at the Saddletree Church of God, in Lumberton, North Carolina.
Saddletree was founded in 1948. Under the leadership of Bishop Kenneth D. Locklear, the congregation is averaging 500 in worship weekly. According to reports from the church, evangelist Barnes has been obeying the leadership of the Holy Spirit and preaching the Word of God. The congregation, “sits hanging on every word, and God’s Word sparked an unbelievable and powerful move throughout the Church.”
On January 20, Bishop Locklear announced that God informed him the revival was to continue for a second week. With a congregation of over 800 each night, monitors were placed in two overflow rooms so everyone could view the services. The sanctuary was filled, with a range of ages, and a high influence in the youth. It has been obvious that many were hungry for a touch from God.
January 27, with over 100 souls saved, Locklear announced the church was going into week three. The altar crowds were so large it was impossible to know all the wonderful miracles being performed, but at least 75 have been filled with the Holy Ghost, at the end of the third week, and over 200 souls saved.
Elders of the church say, “It has been many years since we have experienced such a powerful move of God.” Others say they have never seen such a move of the Holy Spirit.
In the fourth week, church denominations united together to worship and lift up the name of the Lord. On the last night of the revival, with an attendance of over 1,000 and the largest group committing their lives to God, it was announced there were over 310 saved, over 150 filled with the Holy Ghost and numerous miracles performed. Many walked in the church with walkers and walked away without them. Eyes, ears and back troubles have been healed. Many came bound by demon spirits and have been delivered and others were healed of cancer.
“It is phenomenal how God blessed and anointed the church praise team and sanctuary choir to sing nightly for four weeks as they brought the congregation into worship,” Bishop Locklear stated. “What happened in this revival is unheard of today. No one could do what was done but, GOD! We continue to get testimonies of miracles that were performed during these four weeks. God has opened the windows of Heaven upon our county to bless any and all who are willing to worship Him.”
At the beginning of the year, Locklear announced the church’s theme as “Walking in the FOG” (Favor of God). Bible prophecy is being fulfilled at Saddletree in the last days as the membership commits to “Walking in the FOG”.
