Converge21 USA Brings Leaders, Next Gen Voices Together

Virginia Beach, VA– Empowered21 USA, in partnership with the Society for Pentecostal Studies, will bring elite scholars, esteemed Christian leaders and next generation voices together for synergy at Converge21 USA to be held at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Va., February 29 – March 3, 2012.

“America is in desperate need of a 21st Century spiritual awakening,” said Billy Wilson, Executive Director for the International Center for Spiritual Renewal and Empowered21 and Chair of the E21 USA cabinet. “This invitation-only event is one way of setting the table for renewal as key leaders, scholars and next gen voices converge on the campus of Regent University to focus on and help shape the future of the Spirit-empowered movement in the United States.”

During the four-day event, more than 100 learning conversations will address critical issues facing the movement. Dr. Carlos Campo, President of Regent University, said, “Regent University is honored to be the host site for Converge21 USA. Regent was founded on the belief that Spirit-empowered leaders have—and will—change the world. To be able to bring together intergenerational, multi-denominational leaders to bless a new generation with the power of the Holy Spirit is a transformational opportunity. We are filled with anticipation that there will be a powerful move of God among scholars, ‘next-gen’ leaders and Christian leaders as we together seek a fresh revelation from the Lord. We believe that C21 is a gateway to revival in America and across the globe”

Converge21 USA is being held in conjunction and cooperation with the annual meeting of the Society for Pentecostal Studies. The Society is the largest, most influential organization of its kind in the nation and brings together premier Spirit-filled scholars each year for interaction, fellowship and shared scholarship. The Society also publishes a journal entitled Pneuma that is read broadly around the world.

“Members and friends of the Society for Pentecostal Studies look forward every year to vital conversations about the best scholarship emerging from the Pentecostal and charismatic movements,” said, Dr. David Roebuck, former Executive Director of the Society for Pentecostal Studies and Assistant Professor of the History of Christianity at Lee University. “Our partnership with Empowered21 and Converge21 USA will provide a unique opportunity to interact with present and future leaders about what the movement needs from scholars as well as how our scholarship can serve and enrich the movement.”

Converge21 USA (www.converge21.org) is an initiative of Empowered21 (www.empowered21.com). Eleven global leadership teams have formed to pursue initiatives and events in their region of the world. In October 2011, the Empowered21 Asia Congress was a historic gathering of more than 14,000 people from 49 different nations. Delegations included 700 house church leaders from China, and more than 300 from Vietnam—the largest-ever representation of Christians to attend a Christian event outside of their home nations since the rise of communism.

Each regional cabinet, Africa, Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, United States, USA Hispanic, Oceania, and the Caribbean operate under the same global vision for Empowered21 in their regions.

That every person on Earth would have an authentic encounter with Jesus Christ through
the Power and Presence of the Holy Spirit … by Pentecost 2033.

Empowered21 is helping shape the future of the Global Spirit-empowered movement throughout the world by focusing on crucial issues facing the movement and connecting generations for intergenerational blessing and impartation.
