Operation Compassion Sends Relief to Alabama
Following the tornado outbreak earlier this week in Alabama, Operation Compassion is sending multiple semi-trucks loaded with disaster relief supplies to the Trussville, Clay and Pinson areas. One of our disaster partners, God’s Pit Crew, will be establishing a local distribution site in Trussville.
Operation Compassion and God’s Pit Crew, two benevolent organizations with ties to the Church of God, are bringing their resources and expertise to bear on this disaster. While there were reports of more than 20 tornadoes across the southeast, most were localized and hit in under populated areas without widespread damage. The exception was the Alabama tornado which killed three and destroyed several homes and severely damaged many others. The EMA is still estimating the damage.
The response by Operation Compassion and their disaster relief network will help countless families deal with the initial shock of the tornado and help them find hope to rebuild in the midst of chaos. If you would want to help your neighbors in Alabama, there are three ways to do so.
