Each year, children, adults and children’s ministry volunteers pack their bags and head off for a weekend together. What excitement rings through the buses and vans as they make their way to what is expected to be the weekend of a lifetime!
For many churches, this weekend of uninhibited worship, puppets, crazy skits, dramas, illusions, human videos and God’s Word is the weekend that serves not only to minister to the children, but also to rejuvenate the leaders.
2008 will not be any different. About 5000 children and children’s ministry leaders attended the 2007 Kidfest events. At the Kidfest events, many children have received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and their lives will forever be changed, including nearly 500 in 2007. Guests for the Kidfest 08 season will include Rescue Drama Team from Praise Cathedral in Greer, South Carolina, used by God through drama and through serving throughout each weekend. Justin and Lindsey Siegel, a brother and sister Highlands Praise Dance ministry team will lead in worship through Celtic dance. Burning Bush will provide a little alternative sound in music. Kevin McHann and His Word Studio, along with Steve Patrick and Kids Power Company, will provide a variety of ministry opportunities. Along with the services, there will be opportunities for team building and an exciting day at a theme park in the area of the event.
