First Youth Camp in Poland
This summer the Church of God in Poland organized their first youth camp. It was a fantastic time of equipping teenagers.
Polish pastors and youth leaders together with two American pastors taught the youth how to share their faith in Jesus with friends. Lead pastor Anthony McDaniel and youth pastor Richie Sarlo from Abundant Life Ministries (Largo, Florida) came with American teenagers to help and encourage their Polish friends. As a result, both Polish and American young people became inspired to be better witnesses and all together experienced God. Many were baptized in the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other tongues.
After a few days of teaching there was a time to practice what the campers learned. They went to two places in the south of Poland. One of them is called Piekary. They helped a local Church of God, which is the only evangelical ministry in the town. The other place was Bytom Bobrek, where they helped in a project of planting a church. It was an intensive two-day outreach. Young people shared the gospel with people in the streets, sang songs, performed dramas, and prayed for people. The camp was so great that nobody wanted to go home.
There was a moving moment at the end of the camp when the teenagers shared their testimonies and also thanked their pastors and churches for financial support. Some of the teenagers come from poor families so their churches helped them to pay for the camp. One of the many testimonies heard there was about a 16-year-old girl. She had a very difficult family situation; her father died last year, and one of her three brothers has epilepsy, and her mother struggles with alcohol, yet she went to the camp. There she experienced a personal encounter with Jesus and was filled with the Holy Spirit. Now all the young people are looking forward to another Church of God camp next summer.
