Mexican Pastors Set Ambitious Church Planting Goal
Under the theme, “Without Limits,” the Church of God pastors of Mexico gathered recently in their National Pastors Seminar and set bold church planting goals for the nation. The delegates signed an agreement to initiate a minimum of 1,250 churches within the next 10 years.
Led by Dr. Francisco Jiménez, national superintendent, more than 700 pastors and church leaders met in Guadalajara, Mexico, August 9-12, to receive instruction and dialogue about church planting and the training of leaders. The pastors’ new church planting goal will nearly double the country’s present number of churches, which stands at 1,165 organized congregations and 552 missions.
Guests who took part in the pastoral meeting included Víctor Pagán, assistant general director of World Missions; Dr. Milton Carter, who dealt with pastoral support groups; and Juan Wagenveld and Juan Melo, who represented the Multiplication Network.
The ministers prefaced the training meetings with a business session, during which they updated the church’s national governing document.
Dr. David Ramírez, field director for Latin America, took part in the week’s event.
