Church of God Ghana Women’s Discipleship Celebrates 25 Years
On August 4-7, 2011, the Church of God–Ghana Women’s Discipleship held their 25th Anniversary Celebration. The theme for the Conference was “In Unity We Stand.”
Women came from the United States, Germany and all over West Africa to be apart of this historical event. There were approximately 6,000 women, men, and youth in attendance. The women danced joyously before the Lord in Jubilee Park, in Kumasi, West Africa.
Leola Sellers ministered and the atmosphere was charged with the Spirit of God. The Word of God went forth powerfully. About 500 responded to receive the Lord each service. There were many testimonies of people baptized with the Holy Ghost. There were 260 delivered from demonic oppression. The fire of God moved mightily in each service.
The conference was hosted under the direction of Bishop Robert Nkansah and his wife Rose Nkansah–Administrative Bishop, Regional President of Africa Women’s Discipleship–Deborah Thomas, and Margaret Shawa–President of Women’s Discipleship in West Africa. Sellers was the main speaker for the conference, while her husband, Bishop Asbury R. Sellers, spoke during the men’s ministry session. The seminar speakers were Deborah Thomas, Margaret Shawa and Leona Ogunade.
Rose Nkansah and the Women’s Discipleship Board took on a project five years ago to purchase a 30 seat passenger bus. The women worked very hard to bring this vision into fruition. The bus (pictured below) will be used for evangelism. They encouraged the women to raise funds. They purchased the bus for 25,000 Ghanaian New Cedis–$16,354.50 (US Dollars). The Women’s Discipleship Board gave glory and honor to God for this great blessing. The Regional Superintendent Bishop Shawa dedicated the bus on Sunday ending the conference. They have another project in progress to build a Retreat Center.
God truly is doing a fantastic work among the Women of Ghana. They are committed and dedicated to the salvation of souls. The women left the Conference with the mission to keep evangelistic fire alive.
