North Georgia State Office Hosts Georgia Legislature Representatives
On August 16, 2011, Administrative Bishop Michael Baker and the North Georgia State Offices executive staff, hosted a luncheon at the Georgia State Capital for representatives of the Georgia legislature who are connected to the Church of God.
Among those attending were state senators, state representatives, lobbyists, leadership for various departments including Natural Resources, Association for Career and Technical Education, State School Superintendent, and various staff members.
In addition, Church of God pastors for each of the legislature representatives were present as well. The purpose of the luncheon was to recognize, connect with, and affirm these individuals for their distinguished public service.
“As a result of the event, we are planning for an annual opportunity for connectivity, affirmation and dialogue with the goal of expanding the circle of leadership to include other Christian leaders in the Georgia legislature,” Baker stated. “This time together proved to be extremely beneficial for future engagement of the Church of God and significant Georgia government leadership.”
