In his New Year message issued on Wednesday, the Rev. Dr. Ishmael Noko appealed to the Lutheran communion to reject the popular “do-it-yourself” approach to life and challenged the tendency of nations to aspire for security within their own borders.

Once again, December 2008 brought a lot of excitement for our people. It was a wonderful feeling for us as we watched the UPS and ground Express trucks roll in with the deliveries. Wrapping a gift or filling a shoebox of goodies might not seem like much to you, but the compassion behind it meant everything to both us and our people here.
The San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival attracted more than 200 entries, with 50 films chosen for the contest.
