From Sunday school classes to board meetings, “Zoom” calls seem to have become the tool of choice for the Church of God to stay connected in this era of social distancing to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The International Offices leadership is utilizing it and other technology to conduct much of the business of the Church.
A new paper has been placed in the Doctrine and Polity series on the Church of God website, churchofgod.org.
Cleveland, TN–Following a Thursday morning online chapel service, Lee University President Paul Conn notified students that the school’s campus will not reopen for the remainder of the semester.
The following is from Church of God General Overseer Tim Hill:
I have been asked, “What will the Church of God International Offices do to stand with and assist the local church and its pastor as we move through the Covid-19 crisis?” Specifically, I have been asked if it is possible to temporarily discontinue the tithe of tithes paid by local churches, as directed by the General Assembly, to the State/Region and International Offices. These are very appropriate and understandable questions. People are concerned, apprehensive, and right now, many are simply afraid. Again, this is completely understandable.
