Rev. Floyd H. Lawhon, a leader who has served the Church of God for fifty years, including 23 years as an evangelist, was inducted into the prestigious Hall of Prophets at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
Rev. Mark Stephen Abbott, former International Director of Youth and Christian Education (now Youth and Discipleship), passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 following a brief illness. He was 61.
Cleveland, TN–Rev. Robert “Rob” Bailey, elected as the Assistant Director of International Youth and Discipleship for the Church of God in 2016, was officially installed in the director’s role during a commissioning ceremony on Wednesday, April 14, 2021. The brief ceremony took place as a Special Order of the Day during the regular monthly meeting of the International Executive Committee.

Smoky Mountain Kidfest will be held in person at the Gatlinburg Convention Center on the weekend of April 30 – May 1, 2021. It will run concurrently with Church of God Winterfest, which is scheduled to take place at the Smokies Stadium near Sevierville, Tenn.
Following a last-minute cancellation of the 2020 Winterfest from March 2020, Youth and Discipleship officials are moving forward with Winterfest 2021, slated for just two weeks away April 30 – May 2, 2021. The event will be staged outdoors at the Smokies Stadium in Sevierville, Tenn.
