CeCe Winans Releases Christmas Album October 19

The multiple award- winning singer CeCe Winans has emerged from the studio with a glorious arrangement of tracks just in time for the holiday season. Once again, Winans team up with son Alvin Love III to present, Something’s Happening! A Christmas Album (Puresprings/Thirty Tigers). The mother-son team walked away with two Grammy awards for their collaboration on, Let Them Fall in Love earlier this year. The duo snagged Best Gospel Album and Best Gospel Performance/Song in top categories. Love penned five new songs for this spirit-filled Christmas album, incorporating five classic tunes with a distinctive musical twist.

Elreta Dodds’ latest Christian apologetic book, “The Right to Be Christian in a Gay Rights America” (paperback) provides a biblical and constitutional defense against the persecution of Christians who do not support homosexuality and explains why their non-endorsement is a question of faith and religion, not of homophobia and bigotry. Dodds’ intent is not to castigate gays or inflame emotions, but to present a convincing argument as to why many Christians believe they cannot support the gay lifestyle.

Lee University’s Mission Week Serves the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home

Lee University’s annual “Dee Lavender Mission Week” took place Oct. 1-5 to raise funds for the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home (SMCH) in Sevierville, Tennessee. In honor of Lee’s Centennial year, the university observed its roots and early connection with Sevierville and SMCH with the theme of “Going Home.” In light of this, the children’s home provided a unique opportunity to reflect upon Lee’s legacy as well as further support their mission.
