Who doesn’t love reading a good children’s book or being read to? As an English teacher, Carol Lester, author of Roo, the Kangaroo Cat, regularly read children’s books to her middle and high school students. Her students looked forward to these readings, which led to their insightful, and often emotional, journal responses. Thus, Lester’s students served as inspiration for this true story of a cat named Saturn.
Church of God World Missions seeks to connect generations to the heart of the Gospel and to finishing the Great Commission. The hope is to show people of all ages that they can be involved in reaching the world. While the Send the Light initiative is focused on reaching cities, establishing churches, providing disaster response and relief, and aiding education, This Little Light of Mine’s segment reaches the young souls in these areas through the efforts of other small helping hands.
Everyone has experienced an imprisoned heart, held captive as a result of unbelief and unconfessed sin. Worse, our prison comes with cellmates: guilt, shame, and regret, etc. The Keeper of the keys, Jesus Christ, has already unlocked the door to the believer’s heart using the key of forgiveness by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8–9). But sometimes we live as if we’re still imprisoned, struggling with fear, bitterness, anger—even hate. And those sins can slam shut the door of our hearts and strain our relationship with our heavenly Father and with others.
A Christian Family prepares for an upcoming thanksgiving fest. The Sandy family is strong and full of goodness, however, evil lurks. They are being watched by the authorities. Pennsylvania Governor Russell has just pushed through a new sinister law of the land. All humans must be microchipped in their right hand (Rev. 13:17) to purchase goods. Law enforcement officers have been trained to take in multitudes under this law. Young Elroy Sandy (Bound for Wheaton College) his sister Bria and their parents renew their faith as a neighbor’s heart attack sets up strange events on Greene street.
