In the week since the Faith Comes First campaign launched on July 16, the www.FaithDrivenConsumer.com digital community has seen 500 percent growth in participation by people across the nation.

Whenever I visit my friend Lewis Lee, a pastor in Baltimore, I end up on the streets. That’s because Lewis is never content to keep his congregation cooped up inside their church. Every month he takes them downtown to feed homeless people at a park near Johns Hopkins University. On hot summer days he takes teams to the worst neighborhoods of his city to pray for people, share the gospel and distribute bottles of water.

Last year members of Morgantown Church of God in Morgantown, Mississippi collected school supplies for one area school. This year they expanded their vision and brought a community together for a “Stuff the Bus” event. Almost $3,700 was raised in cash in addition to numerous school supplies donated by individuals and local businesses. Four area schools will benefit as a result.

During 16 years of excavating Tel Rehov in the Jordan Valley, archaeologists uncovered a 3,000-year-old, well-planned city. They also found a unique building that might have been the house of Elisha the prophet.

In this digital world, there are more ways than ever to find Jesus. Lives are changed each day with the click of a mouse, the changing of a channel, the swipe of a thumb across an iPhone.

“I’d say at best, the church ignores the fashion industry,” said Amos Chiou, graduating senior at Cornell University. “I’d say at worse, the church is the one lambasting the industry for any number of reasons—body image, sexualization, materialism, etc.

The Church of God Care Campus in Sevierville, Tennessee, which includes the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home (SMCH) and Iris B. Vest Widows Ministry Center (WMC) look forward to the blessing of having work groups visit the campus during the summer months. One of the groups is from Pennsylvania. Pastor Jeff Hathaway, Greene Valley Church of God, and Pastor Adam Kidwell from the Claysburg Church of God join forces to make an incredible team of workers to include adults and their youth. This year, they had twenty-two (22) people who participated.

Over 1,500 people gathered at The Tabernacle in Orchard Park, NY, for the Eagles’ Wings “Legacy” conference. Under the leadership of Rev. Robert Stearns, this three-day event celebrated a 20-year milestone of annually bringing people from across the nation for inspiration and equipping.
