On the 50th anniversary of the world-altering Civil Rights march into Montgomery and Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous speech from the statehouse steps, The Reconciled Church movement–Christian leaders, nationally, from across denominational and racial lines, armed with a seven-point plan–continues the march to racial equity, peace and justice.

Former Israeli President Shimon Peres made a historic visit Saturday to the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas, to present former President Bush with the Friends of Zion Award. The honor was given to recognize President Bush’s longstanding and unflagging support for the Nation of Israel and the Jewish people.

Last night, “60 Minutes” aired a report by Lara Logan on the plight of the Christian church in Iraq. Among those interviewed for the program was Bishop Bashar Warda whose flock has expanded by 60,000 as Erbil has abandoned thousands of those displaced by the Islamic State.

The SYNC Retreat for young adults and college age students is an amazing experience that is growing in interest and ministry success.  This year, participants made friends, worshiped, played and prayed together…they also served during this initiative sponsored by Church of God Youth and Discipleship.

Last Sunday I had a dilemma. We were a few minutes late for church, and we took a seat behind the children. In our church, pre-K through sixth-grade kids sit in the sanctuary during worship and then are released after worship to go to their children’s program. We were barely seated when one of the sixth-grade girls jumped from her seat and rushed to John. “Would you be our teacher today? Our teacher isn’t here.”

The annual Ministerial Internship Program (MIP) celebration will convene this year at the North Cleveland Church of God on May 15–16, 2015.  This year, more than 700 individuals are participating in the church’s acclaimed Ministerial Development Program as candidates, supervising pastors, spouses, and leaders.

The most important task for any parent is to help a child develop a strong faith and clear moral direction. But how do you do that when you have to get the clothes cleaned up and the dishes put away? Most parents find themselves to be very busy helping kids with homework, taxiing them around to various activities, and simply accomplishing life.
