The actor and producer who took moviegoers on a journey to discover American history in 2012’s Monumental now is helping families learn Christian history.

More than 600 Latino educators, local church leaders, administrative bishops, and pastors gathered in Tampa, Fla., August 6 and 7 to celebrate “FIEL,” the International Fellowship of Educators and Leaders of the Church of God. Although FIEL has met in the United States in an earlier year, this was the first joint meeting of the international delegates with the U.S. pastors and educational leadership of the church. The broader gathering drew praise from all who took part in it.

Following a month-long effort capped with a share-a-thon that included two days of live broadcasts, funds are now available to build three FM repeater radio stations in Mongolia. The increased capacity will allow broadcasters to reach an estimated 75 percent of the country with Christian radio.

Today’s Christian Woman (TCW), a Christianity Today publication, unveiled a redesign of TodaysChristianWoman.com, revealing new features that demonstrate the brand’s commitment to passionately addressing the needs of women. The new website plays a major role in TCW’s development of a stronger, more easily accessible brand.

The latest book by Fr. Frank Pavone, Abolishing Abortion: How You Can Play a Part in Ending the Greatest Evil of Our Day, is a much needed book in these turbulent days as we see the value of human life being attacked on many different fronts.

John Stonestreet has been appointed president of the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview. A gifted communicator on areas of faith and culture, published author, and a popular conference speaker, Stonestreet is the anchor for The Point and BreakPoint This Week radio broadcasts. Since the death of Chuck Colson in 2012, Stonestreet has served as co-host with Eric Metaxas on Colson’s daily radio program, BreakPoint.

In anticipation of the 2016 International General Assembly of the Church of God, notification has been given to communicate the process for the submission of items for consideration and possible placement on the International General Council Agenda.

“Potential agenda items are to be sent to the International Executive Council in order to be considered for the International General Council Agenda,” stated David Ray, chairman of the General Assembly Cabinet. “The International Executive Council is charged by the Bylaws of the Church of God with the responsibility of setting the agenda for the International General Council.”

As we reflect on the fundamental, significant, and disturbing shift in the cultural landscape of this country, the need for a Christ awakening seems more urgent than ever before. While the majority of the people do not agree with recent Supreme Court rulings, essentially redefining the definition of marriage in all 50 states, others are being drawn into deception and compromise. The fight for religious freedom that our Founding Fathers sacrificed their livelihoods to establish involves more than political agendas and governmental regulations. It impacts spiritual liberty and freedom from the strongholds of darkness that can destroy lives.

As the primary season for the 2016 presidential election heats up, we hear all sorts of rhetoric surrounding the meaning of good leadership. Men and women from all over the country try to convince us that they are full of integrity, compassion, decisiveness and all sorts of other abstract qualities that seem impossible to measure or quantify. But what is God’s plan for leadership, not just for our elected officials, but for everyday people?
