I have just returned home from a fantastic breakthrough weekend of ministry in the city of Pekanbaru (population 800,000), capital of Indonesia’s Riau Provence on the island of Sumatra, a 90 minute flight from Jakarta. This landlocked city is closer to the foreign capitals of Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, than it is to Jakarta.

This summer, Bruce Overstreet, pastor of North Country Alliance Church in Plattsburgh, New York, will bicycle from California to Maine to benefit The Christian and Missionary Alliance’s (C&MA) Koutiala Hospital for Women and Children in Mali, West Africa.

Seven years ago, when the doors opened in Logan, WV Appalachian Dream Center, there was a sense of awe at what was accomplished so quickly. In less than one year the Appalachian Dream Center went from a dream to reality including renovating a 40,000 square foot, four-story building.

While in Beijing, evangelist Franklin Graham told Chinese reporters he is opposed to missionary work during the Olympic Games this summer in Beijing. Price is the presiding Pastor and Dr. Cecilia Bryant, Supervisor of the African Methodist Episcopal Church Fifth District.

Does the general church take a percentage of funds from the money we send to support an orphanage in Africa in order to pay for the office buildings?
