Pathway Releases ‘I Didn’t See It Coming’
Kevin McGlamery, pastor of Life Church in Huntsville, Alabama, has recently published his first book with Church of God Publications called, “I Didn’t See it Coming.”
McGlamery has learned that life often has a way of blindsiding all of us at the most unpredictable times. For the author, one such event was the sudden passing of his mentor, Dr. David C. Blair. He writes, “Amy and I have partnered in ministry for all of our marriage, as youth pastors, senior pastors, evangelists, you name it. We’ve cried as many tears of pain as we have tears of joy. For all our planning and carefully executed intentions, nothing can truly prepare us for the unknowns waiting around life’s corners.”
Recognizing that everyone faces unexpected challenges, McGlamery begins by posing the question, “Haven’t we all been blindsided at points throughout our lives?” McGlamery notes that, “it could be a dreaded phone call telling us we unexpectedly lost a loved one without a chance to say goodbye; a doctor’s visit revealing the cancer is back; or a pink slip sitting on our office desk with our name on it.” The book helps reader navigate those challenges by learning that “only the grace of God can help us get back on our feet when life knocks the wind out of us.”
“I Didn’t See it Coming” weaves New Testament accounts with contemporary stories and discussion questions to guide readers as they experience the unexpected.
