On Sunday, October 25 at 5:00 p.m., a group of 30 Lee University students officially ended the world’s longest Ultimate Frisbee game after 90 hours of play, setting a new world record.

To mark the 70th year of helping veterans, Guideposts is declaring November “Veterans Awareness Month” in an effort to bring the tremendous sacrifices of those who serve our country to the forefront of national attention. Guideposts believes one day is not enough to honor those who have given so much to our country. Many of these brave men and women return from service fighting their own personal battles.

Stanley E. Wiley’s new book, Save Christmas for Christ Alone: 7 Biblical Messages and Hymn Texts for a Faith Adventure with Our Savior, aims to alter perspectives. The purpose of the seven messages (provided within the book) is to focus our observance of Christmas on Jesus, who was sent by His Father to show us the way to live Spirit-filled lives. Many can agree that it is becoming increasingly common to see the focus of the holidays shift to commercialism, particularly in the United States. The author answers with this book, which has a scriptural focus on Isaiah’s prophecy of the birth of the child who reflects the “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:5-6).
