An important document representing months of research by several sub-committees was unanimously adopted April 30 by the International Executive Council in a meeting at the Church of God International Offices in Cleveland, Tenn.

U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon Starts Sunday

The 20th annual U.S. Capitol Bible Reading Marathon will begin at 6:00 PM on Sunday, May 3, 2009. For 90 continuous hours beginning with the reading of Genesis 1:1, every word of the Bible will be read aloud and without commentary, culminating at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 7, with the reading of the final chapters of Revelation. During those five days, hundreds of Bible believers will gather on the West Front of the U.S. Capitol to read a portion of the Bible, to listen and to pray.

You may have heard the news that late Wednesday afternoon the so-called Hate Crimes Bill, HR-1913, passed the U.S. House with a vote of 249 – 175. Around 5 p.m. a motion to reconsider was agreed to without objection.
