Lessons I’m Learning About Racism, Obama and the 2008 Election

By J. Lee Grady

My column last week about Barack Obama’s controversial pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, triggered a firestorm of negative reactions. I’ll admit I was shocked and grieved—not only by what black readers said to me but by what some insensitive white readers said to their black brothers in response.

A Super Sizing God

Papua New Guinea

God certainly has a way of not only answering our prayers, but also providing extra blessings. Two years ago during our Papua New Guinea Easter Conference in the village of Yombi, Southern Highlands, the Lord super sized us.

12 Native American Converts

We want to give God all the glory for the 12 Native Americans who gave their hearts to the Lord on Easter Sunday after they heard the message of the resurrection.

With tears in their eyes, teenagers, moms, dads, and grandparents came to the altar to pray the sinner’s prayer. They then took part in the communion. After a big dinner, we were able to hide some eggs in the church for kids to find—it was too cold to hide them outside. It snowed all day Friday and Saturday and looked more like Christmas than Easter.

Please keep us and the new converts in your daily prayers.
