Can There Be True Peace for Israel

If you’ve ever heard me share my testimony of how I was abused by my father throughout my childhood, you know I’ve gone through some really difficult times. In fact, there were some things that were so painful, I wondered if I would survive them. But I did, and now one of my greatest desires is to help others know how to trust God and lean on Him so they can overcome their struggles too.
Suppose you knew a struggling businessman. You’ve watched this person struggle to get his footing for years, but he’s faced one failure after another and seems ready to give up.
Recently a friend of mine hurt me deeply. I felt betrayed and disrespected. I tried to pretend the insult was no big deal, but inside I was seething. I can always tell when resentment has invaded my life because I start obsessing about the pain. When I went to bed that evening, I literally felt sore. All I could think about was retaliation.
A vacant home in our neighborhood sat for sale for a very long time! I thought it would never sell. When I walked by it, it made me sad because it was so beautiful but empty. But the home has finally sold and now it’s beautiful, full of life and activity. It reminds me of some of our prayers; they sit unanswered and we become hopeless and lonely, giving up on God and our prayers.
The Bible says the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. We wrote about this in the January issue of Charisma in which we covered both fasting and health.
