I’m always excited when I get a chance to speak to college audiences, mainly because I know I can wear jeans and a T-shirt when I preach. (Who invented the stuffy suit and tie costume, anyway?) But the best thing about meetings with college-somethings is always the high-voltage worship.
Lee University students will participate in a nation-wide effort to raise global warming awareness on January 30-31. This event, called Focus the Nation, will involve over 1000 other colleges and universities all holding “teach-in” sessions on Jan. 31 to inform participants on the causes and effects of global warming around the globe.
I have been on the telephone with our leaders in Kenya during this entire dangerous time of post-election violence.

The president of Gospel for Asia says while violent acts against Christians are orchestrated by fundamentalist and nationalist religious groups, the crimes are not condoned by Hinduism at large or by the vast majority of the Indian people.
Today tens of thousands of people committed to affirming the sanctity of human life will rally on the National Mall for the annual March for Life. Notably, a large number will have been born since the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision was handed down 35 years ago. Young student activists from all corners of the nation have joined with their friends and families to make the journey to Washington.
One hundred years ago this month, the Church of God’s first general overseer, A.J. Tomlinson, received the baptism of the Holy Ghost at the annual general assembly, which at that time was being held in January. The event, although not the first visitation among the early Church of God pioneers, was significant for it marked the occasion when the top leadership of the tiny denomination experienced the Holy Spirit power.
