Eight Thousand Delegates Attend Philippine National Assembly

April 28-30, 2015 was a defining moment for the Church of God Philippines, as nearly 8,000 attendees jam packed Manila’s SMX Convention Center for the 13th National Assembly under the theme, Bigger & Better. Delegates from each major region of the Philippines, as well as many from Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and the Middle East, were deeply motivated by the anointed preaching and worship celebrations.

Dr. Tim Hill, general director for Church of God World Missions, delivered a powerful keynote message during the opening service about “Engaging in Worship Together.” A spectacular cultural presentation of God honoring music and dance preceded Hill’s address, one that demonstrated how hungry the people are for God to do a new thing in and through the church.

Other keynote convention speakers were national overseer Dr. Anthony Velasco and National Youth Ministries Coordinator AJ Velasco. The topics they respectively addressed were for the church to “Enlarge” itself and to “Empower” the next generation’s vision for healthy families and to win the Philippines for Jesus Christ.

Special guests in attendance for the assembly were Church of God World Missions Women’s Ministries Director Paula Hill, Church of God Assistant General Director of World Missions Dr. John Childers and his wife, Deborah, North Georgia Administrative Bishop and ASCM Seminary Board Chairman Dr. Mike Baker, and Austral Asia Regional Superintendent Marc and Marilen Morris.
