Global Day to Pray for Unreached People Groups Is This Sunday
This is more than a day of prayer; it is a call to intercession and an invitation to demonstrate compassion to those who have never heard the Gospel. There are more than 6,000 unreached people groups throughout the world. This Global Day To Pray brings focus to who they are and where they are today.
Three Keys for Praying for the Unreached
1. Pray for the Nations.
Pray for an inheritance among the nations–the unreached peoples of the earth. “Ask of me, and I will give you the nations” (Psalm 2:8).
2. Pray for Key Leaders.
Pray for national leaders and authority figures, those with critical influence, that they and others will be saved. “I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority…This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved” (1 Timothy 2:1-4).
3. Pray for the Power of God to Be Demonstrated.
Pray that the first contacts be accompanied by God’s grace and the evident work of the Holy Spirit. “When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom…but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power” (1 Corinthians 2:1-5).
