Smoky Mountain Children’s Home Receives Donation

Sevierville, TN — David and Becky Hadden, owners of The Greenbrier Restaurant of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, along with the President of the Gatlinburg Elks Lodge 1925, Mr. John Lankford, visited the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home recently bearing a sizeable gift.

These local businessmen presented to Dr. Walt Mauldin, Program Director of SMCH and his wife, Tammie, Assistant Director for Public Relations, a check in the amount of $3,700.00, proceeds from their recent benefit golf tournament. The Haddens and Mr. Lankford expressed their excitement about the plans for the golf tournament to become an annual event and fund raiser for the Children’s Home.

David Hadden shared that as the 2nd Annual Par 3 Golf Tournament was being organized, he told the group he would serve as chair of the event, as long as one hundred percent of the proceeds raised be given to Smoky Mountain Children’s Home. The membership voted unanimously to give the funds from the charity event to the Children’s Home.

Mauldin expressed his sincere appreciation for their generous gift to help care for the children in his care and for the joy of living in such a caring community.
