Liberty Counsel Assists Schools in Adopting New Club Policy

Liberty Counsel advised the Franklin County (Tennessee) School Board regarding a student club policy which was adopted on Monday, April 11. This policy requires parental permission for all school clubs, sign-in sheets for nonschool attendees, and accurate recordkeeping. If any club’s content endangers students or creates a substantial risk of material disruption of the schools, then the club may be subject to sanctions, including disbandment.

Churches Across Nation to Stand with the Persecuted on Sunday, April 17

As Christians around the world face unprecedented levels of persecution, Family Research Council is joining an effort to call upon churches across America to stand with the persecuted. Prominent Christian leaders such James Robison, JC Church of Victory in Truth Ministries (Bucyrus, OH), Pastor Scott Craig of Big Horn Christian Ministries (Rapid City, SD), Senior Pastor Denny Stahl of Calvary Chapel Grants Pass, OR, Senior Pastor Robert Hall of Calvary Chapel Rio Rancho, NM, Senior Pastor Chuck Vizthum of Whole Life Christian Fellowship (Sturgis, MI), Pastor Jim Garlow of Skyline Church (La Mesa, CA) and Associate Pastor Kris Mineau of Trinity Evangelical (North Redding, MA) will be participating in Stand with the Persecuted Sunday.

Foundation for Pentecostal Scholarship’s 2016 Book Award of Excellence Announced

The Foundation for Pentecostal Scholarship (TFFPS) has conferred its 2016 awards for excellence in Pentecostal scholarship. The awards were announced at the 2016 Conference of the Society for Pentecostal Studies convening at Life Pacific College, March 10–12. One book award and three article awards were conferred.

New Church Plant in Ukraine Being Called a ‘Miracle’

A new location for the Good Changes Church of God in Mariupol, Ukraine, is on the fringes of a war zone. A former Soviet Cultural Center, the building was used as a movie theater. The Lord has enabled the Church of Good to purchase the site for a church facility, which will be a Christian youth center foremost, but will also be used for Sunday services, holiday events, conferences, concerts, and more. Youth events will be ongoing.
