One of the world’s largest publishers and providers of Christian products and services has entered into strategic partnerships with two different digital companies.
LifeWay Christian Resources recently announced its acquisition of the WORDsearch and QuickVerse brands. The addition of the two Bible software resources is another vital step in LifeWay’s overall digital strategy to serve churches and individuals. David Seibert, director of business development for LifeWay, says the acquisition helps the organization develop a stronger influence in the Christian digital marketplace.
“[Over] the past seven years, we have done different projects with WORDsearch, and we have really seen them grow,” he tells OneNewsNow. “We’ve seen them continue to have more influence and impact to Christians and pastors around the world. And we saw that it was about time for us to work together more closely — and we felt that the best way to do that moving forward was to acquire them.”
WORDsearch and QuickVerse software simplifies biblical research, allowing a user to view multiple reference materials including Bibles, dictionaries, commentaries, and encyclopedias side-by-side on the user’s computer screen or other mobile application.
According to Seibert, LifeWay’s “digital strategy” is to help customers “go from the CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, put it on your computer and looking at your content only at your desktop or laptop computer to doing things in the ‘cloud’ — and helping customers understand that things can be done on the Internet anywhere around the world and [they can] access any pieces of content.”
The acquisition of WORDsearch and QuickVerse joins LifeWay’s other digital offerings ranging from webcasts and apps to ebooks.
WORDsearch Corp., based in Austin, Texas, has been producing software and electronic books for the Christian market since 1987. The company offers more than 4,200 volumes of electronic books for Christian pastors, teachers, and laypeople through its WORDsearch, Bible Explorer, LESSONmaker, WORDsearchToGo, and InstaVerse software products.
Other QuickVerse software products include SermonBuilder, which provides quick access to thousands of Bible-related stories, quotes, and anecdotes and various biblical language tools, sermons, and stories.
