For 11 years, Youth and Discipleship has been coordinating Kidfest events in various locations. The 2011 season opened with Frontier Kidfest in Irving, Texas on April 8-10. Over 700 registered for the event which featured The Lads band, the Burnin’ Bush, Compel Ministry Team, and Marcus Abernethy and Kidz Dominion children’s ministry team. Participants gathered at the Westin Hotel in Irving, traveling from Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, and Texas. God moved in the lives of all in attendance at each of the four sessions during the weekend! Saturday night, God moved in an awesome way as over 100 children were baptized with the Holy Spirit for the first time, during the service.
Coming next will be the Carolina Kidfest, which will be held April 29-May 1 at the Charlotte Renaissance Suites Hotel in Charlotte, North Carolina. Additional Kidfest events will be held at the Kings Island Conference Center in Kings Mill, Ohio (Midwest Kidfest- May 13-15) and at the Gatlinburg Convention Center in Gatlinburg, Tennessee (Smoky Mountain Kidfest-May 20-22).
