At the recent meeting of the Society for Pentecostal Studies (SPS) in Memphis, Tennessee, Pentecostal Theological Seminary Professor Dr. Lee Roy Martin was elected the society’s second vice president.
The position will lead to first vice president, which includes the duties of program chair for the 2013 meeting, and ultimately to the position of president of the society. Martin, who received his B.A. degree from Lee University (formerly Lee College), a master of divinity from the Pentecostal Theological Seminary (formerly Church of God Theological Seminary), and a doctorate of theology from the University of South Africa, is Associate Professor of Hebrew and Old Testament at PTS. Dr Martin has authored several books, including a Hebrew grammar, a monograph devoted to a Pentecostal hearing of the book of Judges, and a number of volumes devoted to the pastoral and preaching ministry of the local church. He has also written numerous articles for academic journals around the world.
