The Ministry to the Military Stateside Retreat is April 15-16 at the New Hope Church of God in Sevierville, Tennessee. All military personnel, active and retired and especially those who have been involved with Church of God Ministry to the Military in the past are invited to attend.
According to officials with USA Missions, it will be a wonderful time of worship and fellowship focusing on our military stateside.
“Few understand the pressure placed on our military families as they face the reality of deployment as well as separation from those left behind,” stated Dr. Tim Hill, first assistant general overseer for the Church of God and executive director of USA Missions. “With our military personnel stretched around the world it is fitting that those connected with the military past and present come together. It will also be a time to reunite those who have served around the world and participated in our ministry centers over the years.” Additional information is available on the USA Missions Web site.
In recent years, the Church of God has begun an effort to bring additional support to military members assigned to the U.S.A. Presently, 201 local Churches of God located near military installations in the U.S.A. have been identified as “Military Contact Churches.” Each of these churches are opening their arms to military personnel and seeking to minister to them through programs and fellowship designed to meet their needs.
The motto of Ministry to the Military is “There Because We Care.” Most of the center directors are ex-military with long experience in the overseas environment and knowledge of the pressure faced by service families. All are veteran pastors.
