Church Planting Will Be Major Emphasis of Upcoming Conference

The Strategic Missional Leadership Conference, scheduled for April 7-9 in Cleveland,
Tennessee, will have a dual emphasis on church planting and prayer.

The conference was originally scheduled for this past January, but was postponed
due to a snowstorm. The meeting was re-scheduled to coincide with an already
scheduled conference on prayer. The two emphases have been combined and will
feature more than 75 workshops spread over six sessions during the three-day
event to be held at the North Cleveland Church of God.

The church planting tracks will feature several cutting-edge leaders in ministry
with years of training and experience in church planting. The 36 workshops
are presented under the theme of the Great Commission Mandate and will be
highlighted by general sessions where all participants will participate. The general
sessions will feature both prayer and church planting speakers and topics.

Part of the church planting emphasis will feature the work of the Billion Soul
Network, headed by Rev. James O. Davis. Davis will speak in the first general session
on the subject, “How Shall We Succeed?” Another general session will feature Rev.
David Sobrepena from the Philippines who has planted hundreds of churches over
his ministerial career. Others featured church planters during general sessions
include Rev. Michael Knight, head of the National Church Planting Office who will
speak on “Where Should We Plant Churches,” and Rev. Eliezar Bonilla, pastor of
Abundant Life Church in San Antonio who will address the question, “Who Should
Plant Churches?”

The conference features complimentary registration. For more information on
both the church planting and prayer emphases, and for more information about the
conference in general, visit www.churchofgod.org and click on the event graphic.
