Two Denominations Look to Partner Together

Church of God World Missions Representative R. Terrell Brinson was recently given the opportunity to speak to the Southern California quarterly business conference for the Church of God (with headquarters in Anderson, Indiana). Administrative Director David Winn and the pastors and leadership teams from the Southern California churches were present in the meeting.

In an effort to address and minister to the many problems Alaskan Native Americans face—alcoholism, teenage suicide, drug addiction, abuse of women—Brinson made the appeal for the Anderson, Indiana, denomination to partner with the Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee.

“It is time for all Christians to put aside our differences and focus on what we have in common: Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord! Christians must speak as one voice the truths of Christ around the world,” Brinson said. After the presentation, a unanimous “Yes” resounded from the group.

In May 2011, Ted Slawter, the representative of the Southern California (Anderson) Church of God, will meet Brinson at the Alaska state camp meeting to present a check, as well as their faith promise for 2011, in support of the Alaskan Native American project.

Brinson said, “All denominations and independent churches are welcome to partner with these two churches in this special outreach. Together, much more will be accomplished for Christ!”
