Ministry Seminar at Lee Features Paul Walker

The enrollment period has begun for a spring Ministry Seminar at Lee University led by veteran pastor and former Church of God general overseer Dr. Paul L. Walker. The four-session course, designed for both area ministers and ministry students at Lee, will begin January 27.

Walker, who pastored the 12,000-member Mount Paran Church of God in Atlanta for thirty-seven years, holds the Ph.D. degree from Georgia State University and the M.Div. degree from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology. He will conduct the special Lee seminar on four afternoons each month during the spring semester.

Walker presently serves as adjunct faculty for Lee University and has served in pastoral and administrative roles in the Church of God for over 50 years.

He is Pastor Emeritus at Mount Paran, a ministry which flourished under his 37-year leadership before his election as the General Overseer of the Church of God in 1996.

Walker is a teacher, preacher and author, known for his impact on the development and mentoring of pastors, ministers and lay persons alike. Lee University has awarded him both honorary doctorate in 1989 and the Honorary Alumnus of the Year award in 1983.

He is the author of eight books, including The Ministry of Church and Pastor, Counseling Youth and The Ministry of Worship, and contributor to several works on Biblical commentary and the study of the Holy Spirit. He is a frequent speaker in ministerial training conferences, pastors’ coaching and mentoring seminars, and discipleship training worldwide.

Seminar dates are Jan. 27, Feb. 24, March 24, and April 14. Each of these four Thursdays will include a special chapel service, followed by a lunch Q&A session, and end with a classroom session in the afternoon.

Topics for class sessions will include Vision, Organization, Involvement, Communication, and Evangelism. Enrolled Lee University students will be able to earn course credit during the seminar, while other interested parties may enroll in the seminar for a nominal fee.

Seminar fee is $100 for non-matriculating participants. Lee students may receive two hours of credit for PASM 292 or PASM 300, in which case the cost will be that of regular tuition and integrated into the school bill.
