The Bethel Church of God in El Paso is participating in the ‘Awakening 21’ – days of fasting and prayer. The 21 days were launched with Bishop Toby Morgan (Overseer of New Mexico and the El Paso Region) bringing the message, and blessing the corporate fast. Many came to the altar with an eagerness for life change.
On Monday, the first day of the fast, members were at the church taking down Christmas decorations. When they finished, it was lunch time – but they were fasting. So, they decided to stay and pray. A young lady who was visiting family also decided to stay, and she ended up giving her heart to the Lord. The Spirit of the Lord began to move and before long people were on their faces, prostrate before the Lord, praising and crying out to him.
The decision was made to open the church every day – at noon, during the 21 days.
On the third day of Noon prayer, a young man who had visited the church occasionally came in, out of the blue. He shared that he needed restoration and direction, that he wanted a new begining, and a renewed relationship with God. As we prayed, tears ran down his face.
A young couple who just moved from Denver to El Paso, happened to be walking by the church. They came in and asked for prayer. We were also able to help them through our food pantry.
