Haitian Missionaries Cast Vision for 2011

Jim and Gina Hudson, construction missionaries to Haiti for the Church of God, give an update on what they hope to accomplish with the Haitian church in 2011.

The following is a letter to Church of God World Missions from the Hudsons:

We are grateful for the privilege we received with the recent visit from Bro. Douglas Leroy, director of World Missions, here in Haiti. As soon as we picked him up at the airport, Bishop Bourdeau, overseer of Haiti, my wife, Gina, and I took him to visit the Roche Blanche church that we are in the process of rebuilding. This church was destroyed due to the earthquake. We were also able to visit the compound and view the progress we have made there and share our future plans.

Vision for 2011

Roche Blanche Church: Dedication Service (to be announced)

Orphanage – Dufailly: Begin the process of completion and make fully functional. We have received a donation up front and will begin the building of a security wall around the compound.

Medical Clinic: We will begin to make repairs to the existing building, wiring, cracks in the walls from the earthquake, plumbing and painting as required.

Widows homes: Begin the process of building the foundations for the homes and bathhouse.

Churches: We will continue to rebuild and supply financing to churches that have been damaged due to the earthquake.

Tents: We have ordered ten tents that will be arriving next month, and in January we will begin the process of erecting them in areas of need. We have put up all the tents we have received.

Church Planting:(Calebassier) Recently Gina and I were able to assist in taking tents, tarps, clothes, school benches and literature to this new work on the mountain approximately two hours from Port-au-Prince. We drove the big truck full of supplies as far as we could go to where we met the local church people. We unloaded the truck and carried the items up the mountain. What could not be hand carried, they had horses to carry the heavy loads. They set up and had a service where we were able to participate in the service. After the service, we were invited to have a meal with the leadership. Great experience.

As you can see, we have much to be done in the coming year, and we covet your prayers.
