Church of God Officially Recognized in Cambodia

The Church of God has just been officially recognized in Cambodia by the Evangelical Fellowship of Cambodia (EFC). This is the first and most important step toward official government approval to function as a Christian organization in the Kingdom of Cambodia.

“This sanction and official recognition has been a long time coming,” stated Dr. Fred Garmon, executive director of People for Care and Learning (PCL), a privately-funded benevolent organization that works closely with the Church of God. This favor is due to the relationships built from the humanitarian care of People for Care and Learning.

According to Garmon, an ordained bishop in the Church of God, during the first five years of service to Southeast Asia, PCL has established one permanent medical center, two mobile medical units, one mobile dental unit, one orphanage (and supports three others), five English & Computer class locations plus several classes at the high school daily, several drug rehabilitation centers, a 100-home village relocation project, 30 schools of leadership with over 80 0 students, a community center including a state-of-the-art coffee shop and training center where the locals are employed.

PCL now employs scores of Cambodians and continues to see the great majority of them leave Buddhism and accept Jesus as their Savior. Continue to pray for this process of denominational recognition.
