Friday, November 5, 2010–Late last evening Faith News announced that Kohatha Culpepper, mother of Church of God General Overseer Raymond Culpepper, had a massive stroke. Upon arrival at the hospital doctors did not give much hope to the family that Sister Culpepper would survive the stroke or the procedure which needed to be performed.
“However, the church family prayed and God was in control,” stated Scot Carter, director of Communications for the Church of God. “The doctors were able to successfully perform the procedure and remove the clot from the brain. Within a few minutes of the procedure Sister Culpepper was able to move her left side which had been paralyzed due to the stroke. This morning the doctors are reporting that a miracle has taken place. On behalf of Dr. Culpepper and the family, they want to thank you for your prayers for Sister Culpepper. The doctors are saying that they expect her to continue to improve.”
According to Carter, Sister Culpepper will remain in the Neurological ICU for several days. Out of respect for the family and the doctors’ wishes, they are requesting no visitors until further notice.
Please keep Sister Culpepper and the family in your prayers as she continues to recover. Faith News will post updates as they are warranted.
