Cry Out America Coordinators Needed

Church of God ministers and laity, as well as people of all Christian faiths, are encouraged to lead the nationwide event on September 11.

According to P. Douglas Small, international liaison for prayer ministries for the Church of God, momentum is building for the Cry Out rallies.

“Across the nation, plans for rallies are growing!” Small said. “Some of the gatherings will be quite large, others small and intimate. But, when heaven looks down on America at noon, on 9-11, the Father will see believers gathered in every state, standing on the steps of courthouses, places that have sadly been at the forefront of a war against religious liberties, and these groups will be inviting God to intervene in the history of the nation. To change our course of direction, and call the nation back to Him.”

“There is power in united prayer! Small continued. “When the early church lifted their voices together – the place where they assembled was ‘shaken!’ May America be shaken by the power of God as a result of our prayers on 9-11.”

Small told the story about how last year, a concerned Christian woman found out about the rallies three days before September 11, 2009. They then discovered there would be no rally in her county because there was no rally coordinator. At first her response was a detached “that’s too bad, I would have gone!” And then, according to Small, there was a sharp sense of Holy Spirit awareness.

“There would be a rally if you were to lead one!” Small related about the woman’s reaction. Her testimony continued to say that the sense of Spirit-direction was so strong, they persevered and not only was there a rally, but a very successful one – in 3 days. City leaders were present, pastors came and interested parties showed up. And most importantly, people of prayer came – and God showed up.

“Humble people, gathering with other humble people, on the public steps of their courthouse – to pray. To pray for America. It’s that simple! Small concluded.
