Getting Christian Students ‘College Ready’

A new resource has been developed to help high school graduates stay grounded in their Christian faith as they endure college.

Noting that many students shipwreck their faith during their college years, college ministry veteran John Bryson, who is currently teaching pastor at Fellowship Memphis, has helped develop a six-week video study called College Ready.

“We did the best we could to create a tool for strategic parents and those who influence students to put something into their hands to start equipping students to do college well,” Bryson explains.

He teamed up with Men’s Fraternity founder Robert Lewis to develop the series, which is produced by FamilyLife. The pastor points out that church history reveals that almost every single revival began with students on a college campus.

“When you look at potentially what could happen for a college student who truly stayed grounded in the gospel and went to live out the gospel on mission with Christ on their college campus, the opportunity to influence and lead and make a big impact for the name of Christ is enormous,” he notes. However, “the opportunity to just literally have your life imploded, destroyed by the forces on any college campus around the world, it is just a game-changing season for so many of us.”

Bryson believes most students who leave their faith during college years have no vision for their life — let alone a spiritual vision to live for Christ.
