When Community Services Chaplain, Linda J Johnson, of Sioux Falls, SD, received an email about the CRY OUT AMERICA 9/11 program five weeks prior to the event, she responded by becoming the county coordinator for the event. She immediately enlisted the help of Pastor Jeff Hayes at Faith Temple Church of God in Sioux Falls. She could see that God was leading and guiding the entire project. Faith Temple church has developed very good relationships within Sioux Falls and this enabled Chaplain Johnson to reach the key people in order to get the cooperation she needed from all denominations in the area to promote the event. This Christian festival was attended by 330,000 people and is the largest free Christian event in the country. Chaplain Johnson amazingly was able to mobilized Christians from more than 30 states and Canada to participate in ‘CRY OUT AMERICA 9/11″ in their own communities.
Minnehaha County Chairwoman, Carol Twedt said about Chaplain Johnson, “When ever we need someone in this county to head up a project with a short lead time, and to be assured they will get the job done in a well organized and professional manner, we will call on Chaplain Johnson.” Chaplain Johnson says that she took on the project because she really believes in the objectives of the program, and it was a tribute to her husband, and all Americans who are deployed on behalf of the war on terror; as well as a memorial to those who were killed on that day.
We should never forget! We will never forget!
