Lee University will host Lee Day, an annual preview weekend for prospective students, this weekend on April 9 and 10, 2010. This thirty-hour event allows prospective high school students and their parents to experience all that Lee has to offer, while receiving information regarding financial aid, academics, sports, music and clubs at Lee.

Registration for the Lee Day Weekend will begin at noon Friday, April 9, and late registration will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 10. Campus tours hosted by current Lee students will be conducted from 1 – 4 p.m. on Friday and will also be offered from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday. The tours will help familiarize guests with all campus buildings and offer students the chance to visit male and female dorm rooms.

On Friday, students will be able to sit in on select classes on campus from noon to 3 p.m. Students will also be able to learn about the academic programs offered at Lee while meeting faculty and students of all majors in “Major Discovery” at 3 p.m. In the Summer Events Seminar, students will hear the details about how to get involved in the Summer Honors semester and other summer opportunities. Lee’s annual “Incredi-Bash” will kick-off Friday evening’s events from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. The event will include food for everyone in addition to music and games with Lee students and clubs.

For guests interested in Lee’s nationally-ranked athletic programs, the weekend will start off with the men’s and women’s tennis matches at 12 p.m. Friday. The Lady Flames softball team will follow Friday’s tennis matches with a game at 5 p.m. The Flames baseball team will take the field at 6 p.m.

Friday evening will feature three options: a music festival, a drama production, and “Faith and Film.” The NASM-accredited music program of Lee University will display the variety of ensembles offered at Lee at the Music Festival from 7 – 9 p.m.

Lee’s drama department will be performing their production, “The Last Night of Ballyhoo” from 7 – 9 p.m. Friday in the Dixon Center. Visitors should pick up their tickets at the Dixon Center Box Office Friday between noon and 7 p.m.

“Faith and Film” will offer a chance to look at contemporary culture through the eyes of faith in a discussion of box office hit “The Blind Side.”

The Lee Day weekend also offers the chance for incoming freshmen to begin the class selection process for the upcoming year by meeting with academic advisors by appointment beginning at 12:30 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m. Saturday. To schedule an advising appointment, please call 423-614-8121.

A “Meet the Coaches” All-Sports Carousel will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and will allow prospective athletes the opportunity to meet Lee’s coaching staff and receive information about the programs offered.

“The Making of Champions” Teen Talent Master Class taught by music faculty will be featured at 10 a.m. Saturday.

“Parents’ Inside Track” from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday provides parents with the opportunity to meet Lee University President, Dr. Paul Conn, and enjoy an informative question and answer session. Lunch will be provided along with an inside view from Financial Aid staff about the many financial aid opportunities at Lee.

Special luncheons will be hosted for sophomore, junior and senior high school students at noon on Saturday. A separate lunch including an information session will be held for transfer students at noon. The senior and transfer luncheons will also include registration for scholarship drawings.

Lee students and faculty will present the annual “Life at Lee” production in the Conn Center at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. This will give prospective students a light-hearted look at campus life followed by a barbeque cookout in Alumni Park.

The Worship Rally with Dr. Conn and the Voices of Lee will begin at 5 p.m. and will conclude with the AT&T scholarship drawings at 6 p.m. Participants must be present to win.
