Save Africa’s Children Honor’s Operation Compassion at Benefit Concert

Save Africa’s Children (SAC) is a charity founded by Bishop Blake of the Church of God in Christ to alleviate the plight of homeless, starving children of parents with HIV/AIDS. Africa has the highest population of children from HIV/AIDS parents. More than 17 million children try to survive in the Sub-Sahara Region of Africa. Most were orphaned shortly after birth because of the aids pandemic affecting much of Africa.

SAC recently invited Operation Compassion to partner with them to help provide product and resources to help in their fight against such desperate circumstances. Food, medical supplies, shoes, clothing and building supplies are a few of the products Operation Compassion has procured for SAC. Many of these children are being taken care of through orphanages or other residential care facilities. Many were started out of need because of the number of children on the street grew exponentially.

With the fundraising efforts of SAC and the product component of operation Compassion, it seemed like a natural partnership for these children caught in such despair. Whether the children are living in Malawi, Kenya, South Africa, Zambia, Uganda, Burundi or Zimbabwe, SAC and Operation compassion will be there to help in their fight for life. Through orphanages, medical clinics, feeding stations, schools and other populace organizations, SAC and Operation Compassion can make a difference for these children across the continent of Africa.

Recently, SAC held a fund raising concert in Los Angeles. During this concert, Operation Compassion was honored for its partnership with SAC. Bishop Blake personally honored Operation Compassion for their efforts in providing product and shipping into Africa. President of Operation Compassion, David Lorency said, “It was a pleasure to be honored in such a way. However, the need is so great and our part is so small. We need more people to become our partner in this fight.”
