The World Missions Leadership team has been conducting Local Church Missions Representatives (LMR) Seminars. Thus far, there have been a total of seven of these meetings in the following states: North Georgia, South Carolina, Northern and Southern Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Kentucky.
The purpose of the LMR Seminar is for World Missions leaders to meet face to face with the LMRs to fellowship, share and build relationships. In these meetings, (which are usually held on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.) missions leaders conduct 20-minute presentations on various topics regarding the work of World Missions. Some of these sessions include subjects such as Missions Communications (which covers the availability of videos and DVDs and other as resource materials), Donor Relations, “How to Have an Effective Local Church Missions Conference”, Unreached People Groups, World Missions Publications and Education, among others. LMRs and pastors are given an opportunity to ask questions as well as share theirs ideas and fund-raising programs. The LMR Seminar is the ‘ideal’ opportunity for interested individuals to fully learn and understand how World Missions operates and how missions monies are used.
Plans are now being made for LMR Seminars:
Paris, Texas – March 5, 2009
Tyler, Texas – March 6, 2009
Weatherford, Texas – March 7, 2009
Live Oak or Ocala-Living Waters, Florida (to be decided) – March 20, 2009
Cooper City, Florida – March 28, 2009
Eastern North Carolina – May 16, 2009
If your state has not had an LMR Seminar, please ask your State Administrative Bishop to contact the office of Terrell Brinson. World Missions plans to conduct these meetings throughout the United States.
