The Presidential Prayer Team has released a list of the top ten cities that are praying for President Barack Obama.
According to the list, Houston holds the highest number of people praying for the president, and it is followed by Los Angeles, Dallas, Phoenix and Colorado Springs.
Scott Fehrenbacher, CEO of the Prayer Team, says the results show that many Christians, even in conservative states, believe it is important to pray for the president.
“Bending our knees to our sovereign Lord, asking for direction, wisdom, discernment and blessing, that’s really where so many members feel that even in spite of a very difficult decision to pray for President Obama, they’re doing that,” he explains. “I think they find a great deal of reward in that, and I think that they find a great deal of peace in that.”
The Presidential Prayer Team was formed shortly after the terror attacks in 2001, and since then, more than 1.2 million Americans have joined the effort.
