The International Department of Youth and Christian Education (YCE) and Pathway Press are partnering together in the 5th annual Teacher of the Year award to be announced on Christian Education Workers Appreciation Sunday, January 31, 2009. Church of God churches across America are encouraged to consider nominating a teacher, who is involved in Bible teaching in Sunday school, discipleship, or midweek training. Churches are also invited to set aside Sunday, January 31, 2009 as a day to honor Christian education workers for their dedication, hard work and life-changing impact on their students through the discipleship ministries of the local church. By doing so, churches will demonstrate in meaningful ways the importance and high value placed on the ministry of discipleship in the church. Serving in His Steps is the theme suggested for this year and a complete program is available free of charge on the YCE website.
