Engage…Permission to Dream is a conference for Pentecostal leaders and will take place at the Mount Paran Church of God.
Cleveland, TN—In response to the favorable reception of the first Engage Conference in 2008, the Church of God Executive Committee is announcing a second conference with the mission statement of the event to be, “a covenant initiative to recognize, connect and empower merging Pentecostal leaders who embrace the missional opportunities of the 21st century.”
A steering committee has been formed, laying the foundation for the conference which will be held on April 22-23, 2010 at the Mt. Paran Church of God in Atlanta. While open to all, the target audience will be pastors, ministers and church leaders age 40 and under.
“Our first Engage initiative helped highlight a new generation of leaders passionately committed to the Missio Dei (Mission of God),”stated Assistant General Overseer Mark Williams. “Capturing ideas, sharing knowledge and imparting wisdom will be a part of our time together, while we discover and experience cutting-edge ways of presenting Christ and discipling the Nation.” Williams is serving on and is executive liaison to the steering committee.
Engage will be an intensive two days filled with workshops, dialogue and some of today’s most knowledgeable speakers. Headliners will include author Leonard Sweet, Reggie McNeal, pastor Marty Baker and Church of God General Overseer Raymond Culpepper. While still in the formative stages, breakout sessions will address such topics as modern-day church planting, multi-generational churches, team leadership, social networking, and reports on the Willow Creek Project and Urban City Ministries.
Promotion of Engage will be primarily on the Web via the newly-released Web site www.engageconference.net. Here, interested delegates will find informative videos, registration details, maps and updates on the schedule and special guests. On-line registration will be available beginning November 1, 2009.
