Indian Ministries of North America (IMNA) has been invited to minister to an additional reservation this Christmas.

“Look, look, my very own toothbrush!” “I have always wanted my own Barbie doll!” These words were heard from some of the children on the Navajo reservation, as we visited boarding schools to deliver toys. The children have come to know us when we arrive. That was never more prevalent than last year, when I sat down with them on the floor and they began to climb over each other to give me a hug. What a moment! If only you could see the expressions on their faces, and feel the squeeze as they wrap their arms around you with a hug of appreciation.
Indian Ministries of North America (IMNA) is currently planning our 2009 Christmas season. Last year, we distributed toys to nearly 1,200 children from various tribes. This was in addition to the many household and clothing items that were distributed to the families.
The budget for this year’s Christmas season includes the purchase of new toys ($10 per child), hygiene items for senior citizen centers, ministry materials for youth rallies and worship services, as well as cost for transportation.
We have the opportunity to reach into another reservation this year. IMNA has been invited to come to the Fort Apache Reservation, home of the White Mountain Apache, in Arizona, to conduct a Christmas outreach. IMNA will be partnering with Grace to the Nations church from Tucson, Arizona, for this outreach. We are very excited about this new open door and we are believing God for the “provision of the vision.”
With this new addition to our Christmas outreaches, we are anticipating needing toys for nearly 1,800 children this year. The response from our partners has always been great, and we need to really work hard this year to make the Christmas season joyous for all.
